Sri Lanka Association of New York (SLANY) Project Support

The Sri Lanka Association of New York (SLANY), established in 1970, is the oldest organization in the United States that fosters social and fraternal activities amongst its membership residing in the northeastern states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. The organization provides charitable services towards the welfare of the Community in the US and supports charitable projects in the US and Sri Lanka.

SLANY is an IRS designated 501(c) (3) charity organization, which allows our donors to make tax deductible contributions to our projects.

In the recent past, SLANY supported our local community during the pandemic (COVID-19) by providing financial support and health advice. Additionally, SLANY participated in global fundraising efforts for the victims of Easter Sunday attacks, aided the Buddhist Temple in Princeton, NJ, and supported various organizations connected to the Sri Lankan expatriate community in the US. Furthermore, our initiatives in Sri Lanka included providing financial assistance to underprivileged children, contributing to a construction project at the Asgiriya Pirivena in Kandy, supporting religious organizations, organizing relief programs in rural areas of Sri Lanka, and making donations to enhance residential facilities at the Cancer Hospital in Maharagama, Sri Lanka.

We hope you will partner with SLANY, both with your generous donations and by working with us in identifying and conducting charitable projects in the United States and Sri Lanka. We are committed to conducting all projects with integrity, transparency and collaboration with all who would like to partner with us.Please email donations@slanyusa.org for more information or donate directly via the following methods (Zelle, PayPal, Debit, Credit or Check).
