SLANY Pandemic Relief Assistance
UPDATE:
We had an overwhelming number of applicants for the pandemic relief assistance (over 60). The members of the committee vetted each applicant thoroughly and identified 26 of the most needy and distributed ($9,600) funds received from all the generous donors. SLANY will not be entertaining any new requests for funding.
SLANY thanks all the generous donors without whose support this project wouldn't have taken place. It was gratifying to witness all the emotions expressed by the recipients who wanted us to convey their blessings to all concerned.
aving to live through a Pandemic is not something any of us could have ever imagined, but unfortunately this is what we are currently facing.
There are so many of our friends, neighbors, colleagues and relatives affected economically and medically by this pandemic. We hope that many will be able to take advantage of the COVID-19 Stimulus Payments or other Government programs. However, we are aware that there are many Sri Lankans who will not be able to take advantage of the available programs due to the regulations or simply because they do not qualify.

SLANY started a fundraiser via 'GO FUND ME' where all the money raised will be distributed to the most needy Sri Lankans in the Tri State area (NY, NJ and CT).
